Positive Action In Housing, Money Skills Project is now recruiting volunteers under the Volunteer Development Programme. The project delivers money advice, information and skills to people from minority ethnic, refugee and migrant communities in Glasgow who are experiencing poverty and/or multiple debt problems. Advice and Information is provided through drop in and outreach surgeries. Skills and knowledge are delivered via information training sessions.

There are 6 places available for multilingual (ethnic minority languages) candidates. Recruited volunteers will be offered training and shadowing opportunities with a Money Skills Advisor for 6 months following which they will be offered opportunities to run financial capability information groups within their communities. It is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge on welfare rights and benefits, financial capabilities and managing personal finances.

Volunteers  must demonstrate

  • Interest in learning about rights and helping others to achieve their rights

  • Organisational skills for maintaining records

  • Basic IT skills
