Refugee Community Integration Project (RCIP) provides climate action and community cohesion, working specifically with the Refugee community in Glasgow City, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire. The project will focus on health, wellbeing and community development through various activities and courses and build social cohesion. Along with the community and volunteers the project will create a Refugee Community Exhibition to travel across local council areas.
Main Aims of Project
The project aims to:
Celebrate diverse cultural backgrounds and heritage through refugee community development in the following areas; heritage, leisure and art.
Provide opportunities to reduce barriers and social isolation through positive engagement, promoting participation and enjoyment.
Increase education and learning in soft skills areas such as recycling, upcycling and food waste.
Introduce refugees to wider communities and services through community dialogue and discussions.
Showcase participants attainment of skills and knowledge at the end of the project delivery.

What We Do
We are looking to create a steering group to include young people, adults, and professionals from all aspects of life in the group. As we are looking to create a diverse and reach a far audience through Refugee Week 2022.
The focus of the group will be:
Developing project activities and workshops / introducing these into the wider refugee community.
Discuss and raise any issues/ questions by the refugee community.
Work with the project to develop and deliver a community exhibition through Refugee Week 2022.
