Introduction
The project seeks to deliver an employment and training project which will support people from minority ethnic communities to enhance their prospects within the world of work.
Main Aims of Projects
The project was developed to provide support to minority ethnic individuals who face substantial employment barriers.
The aim is for minority ethnic individuals to have increased their skills and confidence in entering employment or further education.
This is achieved by a range of accessible training and one to one support activities.
Within this we want to see minority ethnic individuals who face employment barriers have increased opportunities to engage with diverse employers
Target Communities
Over the course of the project the organisation expects to reach around 3,000 people, engaging with 900 through registrations and signposting out of which 600 receiving intensive support during the lifetime of the project.
Service that MEETS provide
We provide FREE support tailored to your needs, the services that we provide are: advice on creating a CV, support in applying for jobs, access to vacancies & training courses, work experience and Modern Apprenticeships (MAP), develop your confidence, improve your self-esteem and 1-2-1 support, with our dedicated and passionate advisors. Our advisors can speak a wide range of languages such as English, Arabic, Urdu, Romanian, Punjabi, Czech and Slovakian.
Every Friday, excluding bank holidays we at MEETS run a job club from 10am till 1pm, where you can get some career advice and support in employment or training. This is a drop in service. Within the job club we can help you search for jobs, guide you through modern apprenticeships, support you with job applications, support you with college applications, give out helpful tips and general advice.
