West of Scotland Regional Equality Council is looking to recruit the following post for our Let’s Cook, Grow and Sew Together Project.

  • Project Sustainable Communities Assistant (25 hours per week @ £8.25 per hr)

This vacancy is open to vulnerable unemployed 16 to 29 year olds, also including carers, early service leavers (armed forces), care experienced, disabled and young people with convictions who are not on the Work Programme, Community Work Placement or Work Choice.

Job Description

The main duties in the placement will be divided into LCGST project work and WSREC sustainable workplace practices

  1. Work within the LCGST project work will include.

    1. Work with the project coordinator, activities and engagement officer in planning, developing and delivering outreach sessions related to community gardening, food waste, recycling, energy and eco-driving.

    2. Support activities and engagement officer in developing evaluation questionnaires, surveys and reports.

    3. Provide support to the activities and engagement officer in carbon reduction activities within the project

    4. Support collection of feedback and evaluation material from project participants

    5. Attend training, meetings and conferences/seminars relevant to the position, through the duration of the placement.

  2. Support activities and engagement officer in research, and support in maintaining project database.

  3. Work occasional unsociable hours

  4. Any other duties designated by the Line Manager
