WSREC Works primarily with minority ethnic communities across the West of Scotland and aims to challenge discrimination across all protected characteristics, reduce inequality and promote good relations between all communities.

With help from the Climate Challenge fund we have managed to build a community garden within our car park (approximately 80m2) Our garden has many planters, a poly tunnel, and a community learning zone

Currently we offer workshops in the garden through ‘growing your own’ volunteering and individual planters for those that don’t have growing space at home. Any produce is used for our cooking classes and passed on to service users. In the last year, we have held several events and garden cafes in the space and these have been a great success.

We are looking for funding to buy a cover or gazebo for the garden so we can expand the opportunities for local service users and wider communities living locally to enjoy the garden space in wetter yet milder conditions. If we secure funds to buy a covering we will be able to offer more workshops and events outdoors such as our children’s programme activities,  summer festival and cooking classes.
