Cook Grow Sew – Branching Out is WSREC environmental projects supporting minority ethnic communities across Glasgow, Renfrewshire, and East Dunbartonshire to reduce their carbon emissions and increase climate awareness. The project will facilitate discussion about climate change by offering one to one support, workshops, and events on Energy, Food and Waste, encouraging young people and volunteers to start their climate change journey.
Through COVID-19 Cook Grow Sew will support communities with Energy Advice issues related to top up, energy debt, and tariff review. We are also able to provide support with virtual home visits for issues relating to temperature/heating/boiler settings.

We are continuing to provide advice and advocacy in hate crime and discrimination cases. This includes a third party reporting helpline for anyone who would prefer to report a hate crime through WSREC rather than reporting directly to the police.

Post lockdown, the Shine Bright project was unable to deliver workshops and meet members face to face therefore, we are now delivering our services through other methods:
We are using Zoom platform to deliver the fortnightly workshops and have successfully delivered 3 workshops so far. The next Zoom workshop will be on 17th June 2020 at 11:30am.
