Anti-racist educational films

In April the digital channel Teachers TV ran an anti-racism week. It screened a number of films on the subject of racism and how educationalists can promote racial equality within their schools. The week of films featured a documentary about Show Racism the Red Card's event with Manchester United FC in January.

The programme Anti-Racism with Man Utd follows a group of Year 6 pupils before, during and after their trip to Old Trafford for the Show Racism the Red Card event with Rio Ferdinand and many Manchester United legends.

Show Racism the Red Card work with schools and professional football clubs across Scotland to deliver similar events on a regular basis.

Throughout the week there was multiple screenings of two new Show Racism the Red Card films - Islamophobia and Racism and the Beautiful Game - with the film Show Racism the Red Card (UK) available to view via the Teachers TV website (www.teachers.tv/racism).

In addition to the Show Racism the Red Card programmes there are many other interesting shows to watch, including Generation 7/7, a documentary made by the Radio 1 DJ Bobby Friction, and Walter Tull, an exploration of the life of one of Britain's first black footballers and an army officer during World War One.
