Connecting to Communities (C2C) Project

 

The C2C Project will be running through the year 2007/08 with backing from the Scottish Government.  This project will be working in two areas namely:
  • Community Planning
  • Equalities

The work carried out in these areas aims to increase the participation and raise the profile of Minority Ethnic (ME) communities in community planning and equalities.  

 

  • COMMUNITY PLANNING

 In partnership with Glasgow Community Planning Partnership (GCPP) WSREC will holding a series of events throughout the five GCPP areas to involve ME community members in the Community Planning process. 

 

Throughout this year WSREC has worked in partnership with following organisations by holding events, focus groups and training sessions all to raise awareness of the community planning process amongst minority communities in Glasgow:

  • Glasgow Equalities Partnership
  • Glasgow Community Planning Limited
  • Active Life Club
  • Dixon Ethnic Minority Carers Group
  • Chinese Community Development Partnership
  • Ethnic Minority Enterprise Centre
  • Turkish & Ethnic Minority Centre
  • Mel Milaap Community Centre
  • Communities United

 

  • EQUALITIES

This sub-project will be working to raise awareness of equality issues amongst ME communities in the West of Scotland.  Central to this will be the production of a guidance pack on equality which will be available to community members and interested parties.
